Rotating machines (especially motor) expend 57.3% of the domestic power consumption(999,600 million kWh). Therfore, reducing a rotating machine loss leads to upgrade the utilization efficiency using the electrical energy and realize the Negawatt.
To reduce the rotating machine loss, Residual stress(mainly compressive stress) of the eletrical steel sheets from swaging, welding and shrink fit which are the conventional rotating machine manufacturing method have to decrease. As shown in Fig. 1, the multilayers are formed between aluminum plate(A1050) and the silicon steel sheet(35A300). This result shows the possiblity of the metal bonding with the insulating layer(nitride layer). If it is possible to reduce the thickness of the insulating layer and aluminum layer, the efficiency of the motor core will be increase.
On the other hand, the transpotation mode such as an airplane, a train, a car , a ship, etc. use huge amount of the energy. If it is possible to reduce the weight of the transpotation mode, hugh amount of the energy will be save. Fig. 2 shows the result of the dissimilar metal bonding between stainless steel and aluminum alloy plate using resistance spot welding. And Fe-Cu, Ti-Al bonding are also possible.
