Research fields

Kambara Lab. has been developed environmentally friendly techniques, energy conversion systems, and plasma and VUV processing. The key science are chemical engineering, reaction engineering, plasma chemistry, and photochemical reactions. And more, coal quality evaluation for coal combustion/gasification power plants have been studied to improve thermal efficiency in power generation. Research topics are:
<Environmentally Friendly Techniques>
●Selective non-catalytic reduction of NOx at low temperatures SNCR by activated ammonia.
●NOx and/or Hg removal at room temperature by photochemical reaction.
●Leaching mechanisms and control methods of trace elements (As, B, Se, Cr) from coal fly ash.
<Energy Conversion Systems>
●Hydrogen production from ammonia or methane by pulsed plasma with a hydrogen separation membrane.
●Ammonia synthesize at low temperature using VUV (vacuum ultra violet).
●Fuel cell combined cycles with chemical storage system of hydrogen carrier energy.
●Thermal management for Li-ion batteries.
<Processing Techniques>
●Dry coating process of MPC polymer.
●VUV nitration at room temperature and atmospheric pressure for semiconductor devices.
