The 1st Natural Science and Technology International Joint Meeting : GU-NAST 2015 (Dec. 10-11, 2015)

　 Gifu University organized the 1st Gifu University Natural Science and Technology International Joint Meeting( GU-NAST 2015) from December 10th to 11th, 2015.


　This international conference was attended by the members of the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences, Gifu University as well as their overseas partner universities, including 10 scientists from 5 universities from 2 countries, i.e. India and Myanmar. The main purpose of the conference was to further promote research exchange and to enhance the friendly relationships between the overseas partner universities and Gifu University. In the opening ceremony, Prof. Keitetsu Rokugo, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Gifu University gave opening remarks, and Prof. Hisataka Moriwaki, President of Gifu University delivered a welcome message to all participants. After the global programs at Gifu University were introduced, the participants gave presentations.

　 Scientists invited from our partner universities in India and Myanmar introduced their feature and research activies, and the members of the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences, Gifu University presented their research. There were twenty-five presentations (14 for Day 1 and 11 for Day 2) at the conference. Advanced and innovative researches were presented from a wide range of fields, including civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, informatics, chemistry and biomolecular science, and food chemistry. After each presentation, the participants had active discussion. In the closing ceremony, Prof. Fumiaki Suzuki, Vice President of Gifu University gave closing remarks to successfully conclude the meeting.
