Silicon based thin film solar cells and carbon nanomaterials are studied.
Solar cells are expected as a renewable energy. Silicon based thin film solar cell has problems such as low conversion efficiency. In silicon based thin film solar cells, local photovoltaic performance would be different, because microcrystalline materials used as photoabsorption and doped layer materials have hetero-structure. The distribution of local photovoltaic performance would decrease the macroscopic photovoltaic performance. The conversion efficiency of silicon thin film based solar cells is affected by the defect density in photoabsorption layer materials. In order to increase the efficiency, therefore, following topics are investigated at present.
・Study for defect evaluation of photoabsorption layer material in solar cells
・Development of local photovoltaic characterization technique for solar cells
Recently, many researchers have interest in carbon nanomaterials such as carbon nanotube and graphen. Carbon nanowall (CNW) is one of carbon nanomaterials. The CNW has wall structure stood on substrates and the wall is composed of graphite. In order to apply that, therefore, following topics are investigated at present.
・Study for the structure control of CNW
・Electrical and optical Characterization of CNW
