Research fields

Our current research topics are in the field of the integrated circuit for communication system to support the advanced information society of the future.
To deal with Internet traffic growing explosively, the data communication network with large capacity and efficiency has been desired. In particular, optical network system (Figure 1) has capabilities of high-speed and broadband communication using the characteristics of the wave as an electromagnetic wave. And it has been introduced to the access network, such as FTTH, from the backbone network.
In this laboratory, we work to improve the optical communication system by the electric circuit with excellent signal processing cooperated with the optical technology.

The followings are our main research themes:
- Optical transceiver circuits wiht high-speed response for the high-efficiency and low-power optical packet transmission,
- Adaptive optical-electrical interface with for the future advanced optical network,
- High performance analog circuits to be implemented by the digital control.
