Research fields

The research interests involve the concrete engineering, especially the failure behavior of the concrete and the reinforced concrete members. The recent research subjects is the fiber reinforced concrete / fiber reinforced cementitious composites (FRC /FRCC). The specific research themes are as follows

  • Test method for tensile properties of FRC/FRCC
  • Structural design of FRC/FRCC members
  • Application of Ultra high performance fiber reinforced concrete(UHPFRC)
  • Evaluation of fiber orientation in FRC/FRCC and relation between fiber orientation and mechanical properties
  • Durability of synthetic fiber in FRC

The bond behavior between re-bar and concrete, which is the fundamental but unresolved problem of reinforced concrete members, and numerical analysis of reinforced concrete members are also involved in his research interests.

Research Keywords

Fiber reinforced concrete, Tension softening property, Fiber orientation, Structural design, Bond, FEM analysis
