Research fields
Japan is facing on rapid increasing number of aging population. Introducing robots in manufacturing is expected to compensate for serious labor shortage. Meanwhile it is easy to automate simple tasks using robots, but it is difficult for robots to perform "craftsmanship" based on experience and knowledge of experts. We are carrying out the following research themes with the aim of realizing machines/robots with future "craftsmanship".
