Debrief Meeting on Short-term Study Abroad held (Oct. 28, 2015)

  On October 28th, 2015, a debrief meeting on short-term study abroad was held at the Faculty of Engineering. At the beginning, Prof. Koketsu, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, gave an opening remark. The meeting was moderated by Ms. Kawase, Project Assistant Professor of GU-GLEE Course. Twenty-six (26) students who had participated in short-term studies at sixteen (16) international partner universities associated with the Faculty of Engineering, Gifu University, reported their experiences. The following were presented:
  - Introduction of the universities where they studied
  - Research contents and activities
  - How they spent their holidays
  - Differences between the country they stayed and Japan, as to culture, daily life, food, etc.
  - Future goals
  - Messages to their juniors

  Nearly 70 students and faculty members attended the meeting, which was followed by a lively question-and-answer session. Various impressions and comments were reported; some students shared that they had felt the warmth and kindness of the local people, some had discovered the precious opportunity to view Japan more objectively, and some felt their personal growth through their experience. Other students expressed their desire to study English more or to work abroad in the future.
  Finally Prof. Nonomura, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, expressed gratitude to all the participating students who gave excellent reports and commented to those who attended the meeting that he would like to see other future students take up the challenge to pursue short-term studies abroad. Finally, the meeting successfully ended on a high note.
