Research fields
Our research program involves the synthesis and study of various functional molecules based on organic chemistry for discovery of next-generation drugs such as nucleic acid medicine and antibody medicine. These include the development of practical synthesis. Development of useful reaction for PET labeling, one of pharmacokinetic analysis tool, is also our interset. The followings are our topics:
1. Practical synthesis of functional nucleic acids and nucleoside analogs
Ethynyl-substituted nucleic acids, Abasic nucleosides, Versatile scaffolds
2. Study of chemically modified oligonucleotides bearing artificial nucleosides
Non-coding RNA (siRNA, miRNA), Gene therapeutics
3. Post modification of oligonucleotides containing versatile scaffolds
4. Synthesis of labeling reagents for peptides and protein
5. Design and synthesis of peptide isosteres
6. Development of convenient methodology for PET labeling of target compounds
