Efficient, safe and ecological transport system is indispensable to support safe and sustainable society. We, 'Transport System Design Lab.' have been carrying on following researches to design and evaluate a transport system.
1. Resilient transport network design against disaster
The importance of road network when a disaster happens has been reconfirmed again by Great East Japan Earthquake Disaster. We attempt to propose a desin and evaluation method for ensuring resiliency of transport network.
2. Design of ecological and convenient public transport system
Although an importance of public transport has been recognised for ensuring mobility of all people and for promoting more environmentally friendly society, it is not easy to maintain the system because of the decline of its ridership caused by motorisation. We are developing a design method for constructing convenient as well as economically and environmentally efficient public transport services.
3. Traffic management design for promoting efficient use of road network
Our life has been relying on the road transport system, but the level of service of the system often degrades by, for example, traffic accidents, trafic congestion and so on. We are developing a traffic control and management method to relax the negative impact of such incidents.
