Research fields

Almost all products that we use are fabricated by using the machining such as cutting, grinding and polishing. Recently, since requirement of the high value-added products is further increased, the novel materials has been developed. Most these materials are "difficult-to-cut material", and it is difficult to obtain the high machining accuracy with traditional machining method. Therefore, we have carrying out the development of novel machining method or machining tool that can machine "difficult-to-cut material" with high efficiency and with high accuracy.
The followings are our recent topics:

  • Development of hybrid electroplated end-mill combined cutting and grinding for precision machining of CFRP
  • Development of micro truing method of electroplated diamond tool with machine tool
  • Development of high precision grinding method for complex shape mold made of cemented carbide
  • High precision cutting of complex shaped fine groove with micro radius end-mill
  • Magnetic polishing of metal additive manufactured Ti-alloy products with machining center
  • Fabrication of multi axis ultra-precision machine tool
