I am conducting radio astronomical study using the 11-m radio telescope (cosmic-radio-observatory) currently installed in the Gifu University campus.
By Observing the same radio source simultaneously with the radio telescopes in Japan, and it digitizes and records an electric wave signal, the "radio astronomy VLBI" mode which investigates the structure of an astronomical radio source by making it interfere between each radio telescopes, we can obtain the radio picture of the super massive blackhole in the center of galaxy. Also we can obtain the structure of maser sources around star forming region or late type stars, and investigating the mechanism of the maser amplification phenomenon. In addition to the disk recording VLBI, we are now developing e-VLBI which uses very high speed optical fiber networks.
Moreover, research of the time variation of the maser sources radio source, etc. are done as a single dish mode.
