My research topic has been multi-modal information processing which integrates heterogeneous information of speech, music, image, text, and  sensing. Another topic is medical informatics by text mining. For these years, I am interested in interaction of media, business, and society. In the joint work with the Center of Service Research at National Institute on Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, we have worked on behavior measurement by utterances and locational sensors, estimation of service operation, and improvement of the workplace in Japanese restaurants. Currently, I am writing how data mining and machine learning are applied to problem solving in business.
